É impressionante que, mesmo sabendo da importância de ter conforto e segurança em relação à nossa capacidade de manutenção ao longo de toda nossa vida, percebo que coisas e até mesmo bens e propriedades modificam seu status em nossas prioridades, de acordo com a fase que vivemos.
Quando crianças, somos imediatistas, despreocupados com a origem do que temos como se tudo nascesse em árvores. Com o tempo, vamos ficando mais do que egoístas, pois só pensamos em satisfazer nossos desejos e necessidades, sem pensar em sacrifícios, ou na nossa cota desta conta.
Na adolescência temos uma voracidade para ter tudo que todos tem, em especial o que o grupo ao qual pertencemos destaca como coisas legais. Tudo é para ontem e amanhã aquilo que tanto queríamos não tem mais valor porque já saiu da moda!
Até os 18 ou 20 anos, nos casos de muitas famílias oriundas de classe média e de outros extratos sociais, os jovens não se sentem responsáveis por ajudar no provimento de recursos para a família, mesmo usufruindo de tudo. Sobrecarregam os pais com pedidos (quando não são exigências) e usam como chantagem a comparação com os amigos que já possuem isso ou aquilo. Querem tanto dizer que são diferentes, mas saem na rua como tribos uniformizadas sem a menor individualidade no gosto de se vestir e se comportar.
Aqui no Brasil o fenômeno da adolescência tardia se alastra: filhos moram com os pais até 35 ou 40 anos, muitos deles sem contribuir com parte do que ganham para o bem estar da casa, usando tudo para se conforto e despesas pessoais. Acho isso injusto e prejudicial na educação dos filhos.
Os adultos passam a vida a se preocupar consigo mesmos e com o futuro dos filhos, que raramente demonstram talento para a independência financeira e todos acabam achando que eles merecem ter aquilo que não tivemos, então as coisas vão ficando do mesmo jeito de sempre.
Multiplicamos nosso trabalho e acumulamos coisas e bens ao longo da vida (muitas delas totalmente desnecessárias e caras de manter) e ocorre um fenômeno: temos bens para poder aproveitar a vida, mas temos que trabalhar mais para pagar mais gente para manter ou cuidar do que juntamos.
Tudo que compramos vira um passivo (só agregam custos e não rendimentos!): a casa de praia, o chalé no campo, um barco, o cavalo na hípica, enfim, gastamos para manter aqueles luxos que nos dão duas alegrias, quando compramos e quando conseguimos vender (perdendo rios de dinheiro com isso, é claro!).
Com a idade avançando, além do status e do empurrãozinho para a independência dos filhos, começamos a traçar planos para garantir um rendimento mínimo para viver com dignidade e usufruir do merecido descanso da aposentadoria. Aí percebemos que a roda não pode parar de girar, que a bicicleta se pararmos de pedalar cai e assim continuamos ocupando a vida em ganhar para pagar as coisas que juntamos para nos divertir, ou trabalhamos para manter empresa e os salários dos outros, aumentando nossos passivos com as questões trabalhistas e a depreciação do patrimônio.
Por fim descobrimos que é melhor ter menos, menos mesmo e de tudo. Menos casas, menos coisas para cuidar e tomar nosso tempo, menos gente para cuidar de nossas coisas. Temos que ter a coragem de planejar a hora de por o pé no freio e ficar com aquilo que é fundamental e fazermos mais o que gostamos.
Quando viajamos sempre penso que se meu país entrasse em guerra e eu não pudesse voltar, eu poderia viver muito bem com o que tenho em um quarto de hotel. Então, não posso esquecer disso para poder aproveitar mais a vida (ser mais minimalista) e é isso que vou fazer.
Quero a partir de 2012 escolher para quem trabalhar, ter poucos contratos bons e me dedicar à clinica de psicologia que quero reabrir, ao livro que quero escrever, ao disco que quero gravar, ao programa de TV que queria ter, mas sobretudo, aproveitar e curtir meu marido, viajar e poder ficar de bobeira, sem compromissos malucos marcados pelos outros.
É a vantagem de quem trabalhou muito e com qualidade e de quem alcançou a maturidade, Ainda bem que estou podendo, mas só eu sei o sacrifício que fizemos para poder sonhar com isso!
